Games

We play 10 tournaments a week, here are descriptions of the tournament types.

holdem

Texas hold 'em is the most popular of the community card poker games. We play 6 Hold’em tournaments a week.  Wikipedia article on Hold’em

shoot

A shootout is a special kind of multi-table tournament. Normally, when you play in a multi-table tournament, players are moved from table to table to balance the number of players at each table. Eventually, the players end up at the "final table". In a shootout, no such table balancing is done. You are stuck at your original table until only one or two players are left standing. If you win that table, you advance to another table and repeat the process against players who each won their first table.

o    If we have 2 tables we will play until 2 players remain on each table, we will have a final table of  4.

o    If we have 3 tables we will play until 2 players remain on each table, we will have a final table of  6.

o    If we have 4 tables we will play until all tables are playing heads-up, we will have a final table of  7.

o    If we have 5 tables we will play until each table has a winner, we will have a final table of  5.

o    If we have 6 tables we will play until each table has a winner, we will have a final table of  6.

o    If we have 7 tables we will play until each table has a winner, we will have a final table of  7.

o    If we have 8 tables we will play until 2 players remain on each table. We will redraw for seating, 2 tables of 8.

We then use the rules for a 2 table tournament, we will have a final table of 4. This is a Triple Shoot-out.

"6-max" indicates that at each table, there is a maximum of  6 seats, as opposed to the normal 9.

omaha

Each player is dealt four cards. All players use three of the five community cards together with two of their hole cards to make the best five-card poker hand.
